cultural day

A celebration of our diverse cultures, a knock-out show, awesome cultural fair & Bollywood workshops!
As the sun was shining, all here in school gathered for a day of celebration of our glorious multicultural school community.
Organised by our TARA group, our students embraced the opportunity to wear clothing celebrating their diverse personal cultures.
And at lunchtime we enjoyed a celebratory showcase of multicultural dances.
Speeches:
And song from some of our talented Year 8 students.
We then held a fantastically well-attended cultural fair, with a vast array of stalls selling food, drink and goodies.
Including a celebration of the culturally rich history of Manchester itself (with Eccles cakes)!
Some of our Year 8 students also got to participate in a fantastic Bollywood dance workshops delivered by our guest visitor and Bollywood dance instructor Sharmista.
Who also treated us to a showcase of her talents during our lunchtime show!
With huge thanks to our TARA group, sixth-formers, Mrs Wall and supporting staff for all their hard making this day such a success; to Mr Harrison for lending his technical expertise to our show; to our guest visitor Sharmista (supported by Mrs Evans!) for the Bollywood dance workshops; and to all in our school community who supported and engaged in this most special of UGS days.
