fantastic work with natural dye

Celebrating our Art students' work & participation in recent workshop!
Recently, for Science Week, students in our Art & Design department enjoyed a fantastic workshop in natural dye with guest visitor Jo from local community project "Stitched Up", who promote sustainable fashion.
They have started a community dye garden in Victoria Park in Stretford, where they will be using the flowers they grow to dye fabric.
Also for Science Week, our Year 10 GCSE art students completed paintings in acrylic paint on canvas of different cells:
We are delighted to showcase the beautiful outcomes above and below.
Year 8 have also been completing a project on “Nature” and they had the option to submit an entry for a photography competition.
They were given tips on different angles and composition techniques they could use.
As you can see from these examples of some of the entries, our students demonstrated a variety of techniques and a keen interest in photography!
With huge thanks to the students and staff from our Art department for sharing this wonderful work and to Jo for delivering a fantastic workshop.
