author visit

Delighted to welcome Sue Cunningham to inspire us this afternoon!
It was fantastic today, in a super end to our week of World Book Day celebrations, to welcome author Sue Cunningham to tell us all about her amazing brand-new young adult book Cloud Nine, that is set in none other than Manchester.
Sue met with our students over the lunch break for an informal drop-in session.
Many were keen to hear more about Cloud Nine, and about Sue's fantastic first novel Totally Deceased.
And many of our students wasted no time in starting to read their personally signed copies!
Our students were also delighted to ask Sue about the writing and publishing process, and about how she finds inspiration.
We also arranged a special session for some Year 7 and 8 English classes, who were keen to meet Sue and to ask a multitude of questions, not only about her books, but about how she got into writing, the editing and proof-reading processes, and the opportunities for commissioning to film.
A really lovely way to end a very special week of reading celebrations.
With huge, huge thanks to Sue for giving her time to inspire our students, and also to Urmston Books and Board Games for supporting our event.
