ending the week on a high note

Rousing performance from our Junior Choir as a busy first week back draws to a close!

We might only have been back in school for 4 days following the half-term break, but it has, as ever, been a busy and productive week at UGS.

Years 11 and 13 have undertaken mock GCSE and A Level exams throughout the week; and, as already shared, Mrs Wall has been interviewed for International Women's Day; Year 12 mathematicians have been to Bletchley Park; and we have been finalising our preparations for next week's exciting programme of World Book Day events, including the Year 7 Golden Ticket Search, Book Swap, a visit from author Sue Cunningham, special celebratory assemblies, and the invitation to join a social media fast in favour of enriching reading for pleasure.

But, pictured rounding off our week is our amazing Junior Choir, who, accompanied by Mr Harrison on piano, performed at not one but two assemblies this morning, all in rehearsal for a very important event next week.

On Friday 7th March, they will head out to compete in the Music for Youth competition.

We wish them all the very best of luck. Watch this space for updates, and on all that is due to take place next week!
