Swiss exchange trip day 3

Final but action-packed day for our MFL students!

A cohort of our Year 11 and Year 13 MFL students have been enjoying a fantastic exchange trip to Switzerland, following a visit to UGS and the North-West from students and staff from Gymnase de la Broye school last term.

Since arriving on Saturday, our students have experienced Swiss school life, taken in stunningly scenic Lac Noir and Gruyères, and visited chocolate and cheese factories. Today, they got to enjoy the sights of beautiful Lausanne on the shores of Lac Léman (Lake Geneva):

They had a walking tour of the historic town:

And ate at one of the oldest vegetarian restaurants in Europe, located in the ornate former station buffet:

Our group then had time for some outdoor chess by the lake, which was especially fantastic for accompanying member of staff Mrs Chadwick, who leads our very own UGS Chess Club!

They then headed off to the Olympic Museum, where they saw many fascinating exhibits and artefacts.

Tonight they will all be going for a meal with their Swiss hosts before they bid them a fond farewell in the morning.

We wish them all a lovely last evening and a safe trip back tomorrow.

With huge thanks to Mrs Chadwick for sharing the daily updates and photography, to Mr Bridge and to all staff supporting the trip, and to our wonderful hosts in Switzerland.
