mock trial success
Best performance ever: so proud of our Year 12 students as they successfully compete in the Bar Mock Trials!
At the weekend, Mr Neale, Mrs Mohamed and Miss Lowe were delighted to support a cohort of our Year 12 students as they competed in the prestigious Bar Mock Trial Competition at Manchester Crown Courts, and they are pictured above and below in action.
The Sixth Form Team could not be more proud of the students' hard work and preparation for the competition, and their confident, polished and professional delivery on the day, that so impressed the judges, and here they share their pride : "A huge well done to team #MockTrial who smashed it this weekend at the Crown Courts, winning two cases. A huge well done to Freya for winning the Court Reporter Competition".
The Bar Mock Trial competition is an invaluable experience, granting students a unique insight into how the legal justice system works, and giving them access to resources, including specially written criminal cases, that help their teams prepare legal arguments; crucially, it also develops their critical thinking and oracy skills.
Furthermore, through enabling students to interact with legal professionals, the competition develops key employability skills.
Huge congratulations all, with many thanks to the Sixth Form Team and supporting staff for facilitating this wonderful opportunity for our students.
