sharing festive cheer

Our School Council & Year 12 students organise Christmas card donations to local care homes
Our community-spirited School Council and Year 12 Elective students who visit local care homes each week on a Wednesday afternoon recently organised a Christmas card donation in school, asking students to bring in donations of Christmas cards to be distributed to local care home residents.
They were delighted with the huge number of donations, and, this lunchtime, supported by Head of Student Development Mrs Crouch, asked for student volunteers to give their time to write messages in the cards, with just some of the students who turned out to show their support in our Auditorium pictured above and below.
Electives programme coordinator Mr Mumford also tells us that it has been arranged for our Year 7 choir to accompany Year 12 students on their visits during the last week of term to entertain the elderly residents.
We could not be more proud of how our students have embraced this festive community initiative, with huge thanks to our fantastic School Councillors and to our Year 12 electives students.
