interhouse chess tournament

Serious but friendly competition from our aspiring grandmasters!

It was all eyes on the chequered board this week as it was time for our latest Interhouse Chess tournament.

Our keen chess players from across the year groups 7-12 assembled to compete.

And to represent their houses and battle it out for those all-important points.

The tournament began on Wednesday after school, but there were so many competitors that matches had to be resumed during lunchtime today in a packed L3!

Chess Club leader Mrs Chadwick could not be more impressed with the numbers and level of participation from our students.

We are now delighted to announce that the data from the tournament has been collated and verified by Mrs Chadwick, and she is proud to share the results:

1st) Park 30 house points

2nd) Mersey 25 house points

3rd) Oak 20 house points

4th) Bradfield 10 house points

4th) Orme 10 house points

Huge congratulations also to our unbeaten players, who receive 5 house points:

Danny (Bradfield)

Andy (Mersey)

Srikrish (Orme)

All players receive a house point for joining the tournament.

Really well done, and thanks for participating!
