fostering growth at science club
Science Club begin work on the Woodland Trust tree-planting project!
During lunchtime today and in the spirit of the Woodland Trust and the vital environmental work they carry out:
"Trees are our lungs. Trees are our guardians. Trees are our health service and wildlife champions",1
Year 7 Science Club were excited to start work on a project to plant trees in our grounds, and they selected our lovely wellbeing garden area adjacent to the front field as the perfect place to plant, grow and nurture saplings donated by the Trust.
Our keen scientists, supported by Dr Richards, Mrs Walsh, Dr Bethell, Mrs Yarwood, and Mr Sharp, wielded their trowels and carefully planted the tiny saplings, taking care to space them at a suitable distance apart.
The students appreciate the vital importance of trees to our planet, to our environment, and to the wider community, and we could not be more proud that they are dedicating their time to this important project, while actively enriching their science learning.
Really well done all, and we look forward to sharing updates on the progress of our woodland area, and the continued work of Science Club.
With huge thanks as ever to all the staff who give their time to Science Club and who facilitate this wonderful opportunity for our students.
