world mental health day

UGS is proud to show support

A message from our student well-being co-ordinator Dr Zebedee:

Today is World Mental Health Day and this year’s theme is to be more aware of stress at work or school. Work and school environments can be stressful places at times, and there are many ways to deal with this.

So we are excited today to launch our brand new Wellbeing space in the Reading Room, a designated area that will be staffed by some of our Wellbeing Ambassadors.

It is an opportunity for students to visit and take part in mindful activities (such as colouring), have a chat with one of our Wellbeing Ambassadors, or just take some quiet time.

Let’s work together to improve the mental wellbeing of ourselves and those around us.

We are also encouraging our whole school community to participate in the Take 10 to Read initiative organised by the National Literacy Trust in support of World Mental Health Day.
