proud to welcome year 7 to our library facilities

Pictured above and below are just some of our Year 7 forms enjoying their introduction to all things Library at UGS this week.

Year 7 have been learning all that there is to know about our Reading Room, in which they are pictured, our Learning Resource Centre, and our third virtual library space: our fantastic ebook platform.

After discussing the availability of our reading and study spaces - including use of the LRC for supervised study in a calm and focused environment not only throughout the day but until 4.30pm - and our wide range of fiction and non-fiction resources, Year 7 were then tasked with an activity to find as many examples as they could of the many different genres of books available to them here at UGS.

Year 7 truly impressed us with the passion and enthusiasm that they demonstrated for participation in the activity, and for reading and literature. Well done all!

We greatly look forward to seeing them as they progress along their UGS reading journeys and engage in our full programme of literacy initiatives and events, reading challenges, and extracurricular opportunities.
