Ici on parle français

8U research and present on the francophone world!

Mr Gough is this week delighted to share that his 8U students of French have truly impressed with their efforts in researching and presenting on the global presence of the French language and culture.

In our lead picture, Chris can be seen enlightening the class about French-speaking Madagascar, and its President Andry Rajoelina.

While Kobe educated and entertained in delivering his findings on French cuisine Poutine, hugely popular in Canada, but that also happens to be the French pronunciation of the Russian President's name! And 8U were also interested to learn that, historically, French has been spoken in Russia.

Rocco presented on French-speaking Niger:

A great many more areas of the world, and a wide variety of lesser-known countries, were presented on, including Quebec courtesy of Dan, and Guinea from Sophie, who impressed with her splendid presentation.

Really well done all! And as Mr Gough concludes: "The presentations helped 8U appreciate that French isn't just a subject at school, but a language and culture that impacts people and countries on different continents."

With huge thanks to 8U and to Mr Gough for sharing this great insight into MFL learning at UGS!
