outdoor exploration at science club

Year 7 Science Club turn detective as they hit the trail in our Nature Garden!
This gloriously sunny day provided the perfect conditions and backdrop for Year 7 Science Club at lunchtime today, as our keen scientists took full advantage of our botanically rich and picturesque nature garden to participate in an ecological scavenger hunt, inspired by The Woodland Trust's natural science programme.
Tasked with foraging for colour-coded samples from botany and wildlife, our Year 7s were able to flex their investigative scientific skills to seek out a multitude of fauna, fern, and the odd feather; and some of the participants: Theo, Zoya, Kirishika, and Christianna can be seen in our lead picture and below, as they collect their haul of specimens.
Enriching their learning, understanding and appreciation of ecology and biodiversity, at the same time as having fun in the great outdoors, it's been another fantastic week for Science Club.
It's back to the labs for next week's instalment. Watch this space for updates!
With huge thanks to Mrs Walsh, Dr Bethell, and Mr Sharp for organising today's opportunity for Year 7 Science Club.
