open evening

Absolutely delighted to have welcomed so many visitors to UGS yesterday evening!

It was our pleasure last night to have hosted so many visitors to school for our Open Evening.

In total, we welcomed in excess of 4,000 guests: children, parents, carers and families, who were guided on tours of our facilities by our students.

Pictured above proudly setting up the Book Fair outside the LRC, in readiness for the arrival of our visitors, are just 4 of our Year 7 representatives: Grace, Dheethya, Sophie and Bea.

In addition to tours of our facilities, our guests also enjoyed learning more about UGS during presentations delivered by our Head, Senior Leadership team, Lead prefects, and student body.

We showcased our teaching areas, science laboratories, sports facilities, music studio, theatre, libraries, art, design and computer science facilities, lecture theatres, debating suites, independent learning centre, and communal spaces.

We were also delighted to offer interactive subject-specific workshops, present science experiments in action, and to treat our guests to a live demonstration of the immense talents of our students in the performing arts, in debating, and in sport, to name just some.

Our students as ever proudly represented our school, and it was fantastic to receive a great deal of praise and positive feedback from visitors on our student body, including our amazing Year 12s, who truly impressed on tour; and for the joyful enthusiasm of all of our students for everything UGS, and their demonstration both of our core values, and of their commitment to learning and enrichment.

A truly fantastic evening, with huge thanks to all our visitors, and to all in our wonderful school community.
