another busy & productive half term draws to a close
And wishing all in the UGS community a fantastic break!
It might be the last week of half term, but there has been lots going as ever, and we are delighted to have already shared news about our Year 12 Post 18 & Mock Interview Day on Monday, our Year 10 Geography field trip to North Wales, Turing Tumble challenges in Maths, our farewell celebration for Year 11 yesterday, our Year 7 Rounders team competing in their first fixture, and the winners of our House Sherlock Holmes Day creative writing competition.
But that has not been all ...
Pictured above this morning in our Main Hall are our Year 7 and 8 students in their final assembly of this half term, delivered by Assistant Head Miss Lowe. Year 9 and 10 also attended in a separate sitting, and it inspired our students with ideas and methodology for optimising learning processes and critical thinking.
Presentation on applying for higher education courses in Engineering
On Thursday, Mrs Hunt delivered a constructive session to Year 12 and 13 students who are considering careers in engineering. This covered information on university courses in the field, including Oxbridge, and advice and guidance on useful websites, resources, recommended reading, and online courses.
Year 12 Mentoring Day (today)
An invaluable opportunity for Year 12 students to meet with their mentors to discuss achievements, progress and targets, and to maximise plans for next steps towards university applications, apprenticeships and careers.
We wish all in our wider UGS community - students, staff, parents and carers - a fabulous Whit break, and we look forward to returning fully energised for the final stage of our academic year, and all that it promises!
