they sleighed it: house library Christmas quiz winners!
Celebrating the winners of our Year 7 House Library Event
As if it wasn't festive enough this week in school with Tuesday evening's Festival of Christmas and our fabulous catering staff hosting not one but two days of Christmas lunches for students and staff, yesterday Year 7 were invited to take part in the House Library Christmas Quiz.
Pictured above L-R are winners Mariyah 7S, Oliver 7S, Sebastian 7T, Yasasvi 7S & Kirishika 7U (also a winner but not pictured: Alfie 7T)
Year 7 were given the chance to pit their wits on seasonal tales ranging from classics like Alcott's Little Women, Dickens's A Christmas Carol and Tolkien's Letters from Father Christmas, to childhood favourites such as Seuss's The Grinch who Stole Christmas, Briggs's The Snowman, and Van Allsburg's The Polar Express, to poetry from Moore, and more contemporary offerings like Rowling's The Christmas Pig.
Below are some of the early arrivals to compete:
And those giving some serious thought to their answers:
Here are Oliver and Mariyah, who went on to be some of our winners, proudly displaying their entries as they completed the full set of questions!
And a huge shout-out to Kirishika and Yasasvi (pictured below as they finished), who, in an outstanding achievement, went on to triumph as our top-scoring winners, by dropping only 2 points overall - really well done!
Thanks Year 7 for joining in, and for, in some cases, forgoing the special canteen lunch to take part!
