year 13 lacrosse success
Year 13 Oscar's impressive international competitive record in Lacrosse
It's great to share news of Y13 Oscar's success in Lacrosse: he plays with various teams (Brooklands Seniors, U19, Northern Box, Lancashire) and has been with the England Lacrosse Development Program for a number of years.
He is pictured below as he prepared to set off to Prague over the summer, where in an amazing achievement he competed as part of the England U18 Development Squad's tour.
Oscar played 5 matches against the Czech and German U20 National teams and other local clubs, winning all of them.
The tour programme was intense, with training and games taking place in sweltering temperatures; the squad were also coached in nutrition and essential strategies for both athletic and personal care, such as stretching and sleeping. These strategies are not only crucial in supporting well-being off the pitch, but are designed to optimise performance on it, and the likelihood of selection to play. Key disciplinary tactics for future tours!
Oscar plays in attack, and is a huge asset to the team as he is pretty much ambidextrous, so in playing left he can easily cover the right-wing of the pitch, which makes him a very dangerous opponent to the challenging team.
Oscar plans to continue playing for England, and his ambition is to secure a Lacrosse scholarship at University in the USA or UK university next year.
We wish him the very best of luck and look forward to hearing about his success and achievements moving forward.
