Extra Curricular
'You are more than the sum of your grades...'
At Urmston Grammar we strive for academic excellence, however it is important that all students remember that they are more than the sum of their grades. We encourage all students to live our school values of Pride, Participation and Empathy by fully engaging in the extra-curricular opportunities available. See the timetable attached at the bottom of the page.
In the 2023/24 academic year we surveyed all students, staff and parents & carers to decide upon 9 key character traits students should aim to develop during their time at Urmston Grammar. These are as follows:
Character Traits |
Collaboration |
Communication |
Confidence |
Curiosity |
Independence |
Kindness |
Leadership |
Resilience |
Respect |
In all the extra-curricular clubs, teams, trips, competitions and countless other school events which take place each year, the specific character traits developed in each activity are highlighted. Students should aim to participate in as broad a range of opportunities as possible to maximise their character development.
