Chess Club were delighted to welcome two teams from Years 7-9 from Altrincham Grammar School for Boys this week for a friendly match.

Chess Club leader Mrs Chadwick reports that the standard of play was very high and AGSB won - congratulations guys! - but there were some very strong performances from our UGS team.

It was a great afternoon and an excellent opportunity for our junior players to build up their experience, with many sharing that they had picked up some excellent new tips thanks to advice from their opponents. 

Really well done all and a big shout-out to our UGS players: Dan, Andy, Srikrish, Bharath, Oliver, Charlie, Kirishika, Jacob, Emmanuel, Sajith, Jacob, Rory and Murari!

With huge thanks to AGSB staff and students for joining us and to Mrs Chadwick for organising this great opportunity.
