huge success: isoc charity dinner
Aizah 11U reports on the fantastic collaboration between UGS & AGGS ISOC
On Saturday evening, our very own ISOC, working with ISOC at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls and Action for Humanity, were delighted to host a hugely successful charity dinner, the culmination of months of hard work and collaboration between students from across the year groups from both schools.
After all the planning and organisation, the students worked tirelessly on the evening, setting up the event space to look so fantastic:
They arranged for two special guest speakers to speak at the event: Ubaid Fariad, president of the University of Manchester ISOC, who spoke impactfully on the importance of leaving a meaningful legacy as individuals and as a community; and Dr Hanoun, who shared first-hand powerful stories of providing medical care in Gaza.
As Aizah tells us, it was an evening that was fantastically well-attended by students, their families, and staff, and it was as moving and inspirational as it was enjoyable: "The Charity dinner and auction was engaging and fun, with delicious food. The months of joint hard work between the two ISOCs and Action for Humanity paid off: the amazing outcome, with so much money raised - around £25,000! - for a worthwhile charitable cause, was a great representation of the students of our school, and of AGGS".
We could not be more proud, really well done all, with huge thanks to Aizah for sharing this report and the lovely photographs.
