Tara black history month writing competition
Delighted to announce our winners!
In Assembly this morning we were immensely proud to celebrate the winners of our recent writing competition that was organised by our TARA (Trafford Schools' Antiracism Alliance) committee during Black History Month, with a focus on the core theme for this year of Identity and Heritage.
Our students were tasked with producing a written piece of work that explored, celebrated and shared their own personal or family cultural identity, heritage or journey, or that of others.
TARA were truly impressed by the standard of entries and the breadth of cultures and stories that the narratives represented and embraced, including Nigerian, Chinese, Indian, Congolese, and Indigenous Australian.
It was a tough call to decide on the winning entries, but TARA awarded first place to Zafira 7U (pictured centre), and joint second place to Ayla 7R (2nd in row L-R) and Princess-Zoe 7U (7th left).
Also pictured are our runners-up: Teju 7S (1st in row), Anita 7T (3rd in row), Joel 7M (5th in row) and Excellence 7R (6th in row).
Really well done all, and the winning entries will be published in the next edition of our school magazine Perspectives.
