Science Club ends the year on a high with awards & looking forward to September!

Science Club leader Mrs Walsh is pictured above at lunchtime today with some of our Year 7 stars of Science Club at their last meeting for this year: Theo, Yasasvi, Zoya, Christianna, and Kirishika.

Mrs Walsh could not be more delighted with Year 7's engagement with extracurricular lunchtime Science Club throughout this year, and the many different experiments, investigations, and events that they have taken part in, and that we have shared news about, including sessions on forensic science, telescopes, yeast bombs, nature and ecology; and not forgetting also our spectacular Year 7 Science Fair, a real showcase of the knowledge and passion of our students for the subject.

Mrs Walsh has been particularly impressed with Theo, Christianna, and Kirishika's dedication to Science Club, their vibrant enthusiasm and their many contributions, including submitting inspired poster designs.

And she is pleased today to announce that they have been selected to act as ambassadors for Science Club, and was delighted to award them special badges that they are pictured below proudly wearing:

In their role from September, the ambassadors will help with planning and facilitating Science Club for the incoming Year 7 cohort, and share their enthusiasm and commitment with our new students.

They took first steps today by contributing ideas for the new academic year's programme of events:

The Science Club schedule from September will include: chromatography, forensics, fibres, fire-writing, sparklers, petri-disc decorations, a virtual escape room, pond dipping, science scavenger hunts, and much, much more!

We cannot wait to share updates on all that our new cohort will enjoy, and the progress of our fantastic ambassadors for the subject.

With huge thanks to Mrs Walsh and the Science Club for sharing all of their great news throughout the year!
