save the date for our next community lecture!
The last in our current series will take place on Tuesday 9th July
We are delighted to announce that the next in the series of our inspiring and intellectually insightful supercurricular community lectures will take place in our Theatre on Tuesday 9th July from 6-7pm.
So far this year we have been guided through the fields of medical research, critical theory, post-modern literature, physics, and genetics, and we are ending the year on a Linguistic note, courtesy of our very own Head of English Mrs Derby, who will present on: Surveillance, Compliance, Coercion, Control: How Linguistic Conservatism is Stifling Creativity.
It promises to be another thought-provoking evening, as Mrs Derby will present on her research into Linguistics, and examine and explore language use in the classroom.
All are welcome, and it will be of particular interest to students of English and Sociology, and those who aspire towards academic and career pathways in these and related disciplines; and of course to anyone in search of both enlightenment and broadening their intellectual horizons!
You would not want to miss out on this last opportunity for the current year, and we very much look forward to welcoming you on the evening.
