house reading challenge winners
Celebrating our current Reading Champions!
We are now delighted to announce the winners of our latest House Library Challenge: Spring into Reading!
Pictured above this morning are two of our House Reading Champions: Asfer 7R (Orme House), who is overall winner, having read both a phenomenal amount of books from our online platform, and hard copy titles from our Reading Room and LRC so far this term; and Sophie 7S (Park House), who has read and enjoyed a wide variety of fiction titles from our Library.
Also successful and pictured below : Kelvin 7S (Mersey House):
And Thomas 8M (Mersey), who are consistently prolific readers, and who, like Asfer and Sophie, were keen to take up the challenge to engage in a reading refresh for the new term, and to explore and enjoy a range of new and different titles from our shelves.
It is great that the challenge coincided with the arrival in school of a stock of a broad selection of brand new books: these were inspired by recent events, International Women's Day and World Book Night, and were chosen based on recommendations from our students and staff.
Our final House Library challenge for this term launched last week: Read for Empathy; this has been inspired by National Empathy Day, and our current winners have already made an enthusiastic start.
We look forward to lots of students participating in our new challenge, and to duly celebrating their reading outcomes at the end of term.
Well done!
