rugby league, football & athletics success all in one week!
Next stop the National Finals for our Year 8 Rugby Team, our Year 8 Football team are through to the Trafford Cup Final, and our athletes triumphed in the Trafford Championships!
We could not be more delighted to share amazing news about not one but three phenomenal sporting successes this week from our sports stars who, in a fantastic achievement, triumphed over their competitors to make it through to prestigious finals, and performed outstandingly in the Trafford Athletics Championship at Longford Park!
Firstly: pictured above are our Year 8 girls' Rubgy team, who competed on Tuesday in the Trafford Rugby League tournament at Wellington School. As Miss Salisbury reports, they played outstandingly, winning all of their games. This saw them triumph over BTH in the first game, Wellington in the second, and they went on to beat Wellington for a second time in the finals, with a phenomenal score of 8-0!
This means that our team have now successfully secured qualification for the National Finals that will take place at Victoria Park in Warrington in a few weeks' time, and will see them compete against 12 schools from different regions.
Secondly: Mr Hines is proud to share news that our Year 8 Football team beat Sale High 3-1 last night, meaning that they have reached the Trafford Cup Final!
Thirdly: Mr Bradshaw and Mrs Evans are delighted to report on the success of our Year 8, 9 & 10 athletes at the Trafford Athletics Championship that took place at Longford Park Stadium on Wednesday.
The fantastic achievements are as follows:
